Matt, this route has been tried and won't work, but it can be done using a caravan style heater. The issue with this is the ce mark and reliability. i am looking at getting an infinity in the new year and useing my cheapo as back up.

 What I would do is use an aluminium flexible pipe from wickes, about £5 which I believe is a washer drier out pipe. Fixed over vent, free end would hook over crossways rail in my van roof during transit that supports poles, and be attached to top of open back door during use.
 A heat baffle would  probably yellow the paint work.

The hooks I use are S's similar to what people hang saucepans up in kitchens with.

Placement and van layout are important. As is easy removal. Thought has to be given to dimensions and method of affixing and can only be done by a corgi.

if I am right the only thing you cannot do is hook up gas that has to be done by corgi pipe work and install can be and work is then soundness tested and checked and connected up.

I think that's right ww,so you pretty much have to figure out exactly what you want before you ask anyone to do it. For these reasons I can't ever see Matt being able to post on his site.The whole subject is a bit of a minefield.

the only problem I can see is the van size and payload being a problem and safety side. And I really do hope if this is posted on there that it is noted for the van size and payload as many people would take the advice and could seriously hurt themselves or others around them if they get it wrong.

that must make insurance sky high  , I would prefer a diesal heater than lpg least if you crash you will not blow up 
when I do go hot there will be many things I look at, the number 1 will be my safety second will be the working of it, third will be cost.

Petrol also gives off a flammable vapour and is highly volatile. Many cars and vans are fuelled by it as they are increasingly by LPG.

I will go hot at one point and I am taking everything you and others and writting in, so many things to learn with cold first, new van may have hot, staffing nightmare at the mo.

One big advantage with hot. It's idiot proof, any new employee will be turning out perfect work immediatly. Also the costs will deter them from setting up on their own.

I'm not saying that they won't be able to misuse or break your equipment, but they will do a good job.
