How quick are you now.
« on: December 22, 2007, 09:06:00 pm »
I`m interested to know how much quicker you all are now that you`ve gone WFP,in a 4 or 6 weekly period how quickly do you now get it all done.I like most still do some work trad but have managed to get most of it over to WFP and find when going back on the blade from time to time it slows me up a bit,i reckon if all the work was WFP you would absolutley fly round out of all my work about 80% is WFP.

It depends were I am on the round but the fastest is slightly quicker that twice as quick and the slowest is just slightly quicker. But I recon on average, considering that you can work for longer, day after day and not just quicker, I must be completing at least 2 days work in 1.25 days.

I really love the fact that one of my leaded properties that used to take me 55 mins trad can now be done in 17 mins WFP.

Set up times count here so
Smaller properties 1.5 x quicker
Larger properties 2 or 3 x quicker
Leaded probably 4 x quicker

NWH, I know you like to knock me, but why are you giving them the choice m8 ? you are asking for problems, I have a few large rounds and I never gave an option when I changed, they benifit from it I pluged these benifits if ever they askled, I did not give a letter (asking for trouble IMO) a few asked and I explained, simple.

you have my number.

yeh i dont give them a choice, its wfp or...well nothing lol

i suppose i "might" if it was a good property and well priced. but i aint been asked yet. so like window washers say, why give them the choice

spend all that money and not use it all the time

mechanic goes out and buys a nice new snap on socket set...but sometimes uses pliers to take a nut off

use the tool that is best and quickest and safest for you...not for them

I've never been trad only so when i came straight into the trade wfp i calculated i would need a minimum of ten houses a day to give me a livable wage. When i started this figure seemed ambitious - i was knackered and miserable and couldn't sleep properly due to the shoulder pains i had. Nearly a year on and those ten are usually in the bag before lunch so by the afternoon i'm searching for more customers. I'm still grumpy because i run out of work but don't ache and could keep it up for twelve hours a day.

I think I am 50% quicker overall, I have a few accounts that used to take 3 hours  trad, 3 floors high and hard work, on one account in particular the amount of work has doubled, the office block next door has been converted to flats and I now do that as well.
Done trad the pair would take me at least 5 to 6 hours, but I do them both WFP in an hour and a half...I'm not telling you what I charge for them ;)

can i answer for NWH , i feel i know him that well, some is oxidised frames and you cant do there wfp, they leave spots, and they are good payers, and so jobs just dont merit wfp, like small ones, or flat roofs where you have to get ladders out etc etc

i think that's about right,

that's the reason why mine isnt all wfp, its a tool not the ultimatum, work is work and im not going to turn down a good job just because i insist on wfp, im not that rich sadly,

maybe you could give me some money?

I started wfp 14 mnths ago after being trad for 26 years.About 70% is now wfp, the rest I've not changed over for various reasons ,flat roofs, balconies, crappy windows ect.
I have no problem with this way of working at all.

It seems daft to me you might turn a job down because it cant all be done wfp,the pole is an excellent tool to have, enabling you to clean all windows.

Oh and to get back to the topic ,it varies from twice as quick to just a bit faster depending on the type and size of job.

Too quick, I'll have to slow down if I know the customers are in. ;D

One of my customers couldn't believe how quickly I cleaned their place and I felt a lot of jealousy creeping into the tone of their voice. I made my excuses like: it's not cheap buying the equipment, it's very expensive to maintain what with filters to buy, clamps that need replacing, pumps to buy, poles to buy, etc, etc.

I like it when the customers are out, that way they don't know how quick I really clean their place ;D
