Hi all,

took a booking to clean some carpets after christmas. End of tennancy and they're a bit worried because one of their darling children has been drawing on the living room carpet, (Cream wool mix) with an Indelible Marker......a nice dark Blue one 

I have had success with other inks but this is a first for me so wondered if anyone can recommend any 'tried & tested' product that you know works ?

Tell the custy before you start that you may not be able to get it out and take a photo before you start, just in case they come back and say it wasn't there, then use your usual spotters to reduce the ink, remember to blot it out as you dont want a big smudge, if not working I would try the Iron method, but dont have it too hot.

Les, if you do use the iron method remember that most PL policies have an exclusion in them regarding the application of direct heat so if you did damage in process you probably won't be covered.

Had the same problem cleaning my sisters carpet her children had drawn all over them in supposedly washable pens or should i say wash outable ? hardly made any difference to it whatever i used on it was on a dark carpet but was still clearly visible

Well thanks for the varied advice which I appreciate.

I did go to look at the stain  and I did think that it was not going to be removable....

However I had a product calle 'Krudkutter' on board. American, (now there's a surprise) invented by a Brit who couldn't get funding here so moved to the states and became a multi millionaire 

It actually worked really well and the cutomer was well chuffed, hence I'm back in January to finish the job.

Oh, and of course she had alreay had a go with the old 'Vanish & Bucket of water' lovely big water stain and loads of foam.
