Like anything, takes a bit of getting used to, I had just got the hang of mine and got it operating to my satisfaction when I had to let it go, as I had ordered an RX20 and needed the pennies. Wish I had kept it though, the Yorkshire gentleman who now owns it, loves it and I believe he uses it on most carpet jobs. You need a powerful vacuum system, and need to set the pressure at no more than 100psi to ensure a speedy drying times.

As said by Dave Lee above, this Yorkshire Gentleman (thanks for that Dave), loves the Rotavac, I use it on every job!!

But must add I use it with a T/M using 50 degrees C temp and a minimum of 400psi, also as stated in another post you MUST have the power to take away what you are putting onto the carpet.
I get better looking each day!!

Just to add to Johns post. He uses a much higher psi than I prefered, however since I owned it,the jet sizes have been reduced to restrict the flow.

Im puzzled

The Alltec Advantage has twin vacs and I believe a 135psi pump.

Yet it appears you need a powerful machine for Rotovac?

I believe that the Roto-Vac certainly has its place in our cleaning world. Maybe it is not the Best on all carpets; however, the more tools in our tool box, the better.

Whenever using a Roto-vac, or similar tool, the use of a higher CFM machine would be a requirement, in my experience. Definitely needs Air-Flow, and alot of it.

The very best

i use a rotovac, with my allteck advantage, with out any probs,i have however reduced the jet size down, i dont have a problem with over wetting and find drying times to be good, like every new piece of kit we all buy, they take time to get used to!,but they both work well for me :D

Ian,
The Advantage is one of the most powerful portables available, and I think Dave has found the answer here by reducing the jet sizes accordingly and made it work. In my opinion the jets sized as they are as supplied are too large for portable use, I have a feeling that they were originally rated for TM usage.

yes, they are jetted in the states, for t/m use, so they need "down sizing for use with a portable, but the results speak volumes
