thanks guys - i stumbled accross the betavalve website before, thanks for the links luke, it is a bit over the top for what i need for a ro system, but its good quality and makes water much faster for me- im sure it will help
1000 ltrs in 1 hour and 40 minutes is much better - my current 300gpd system does that in about 72 - 96 hours. I think i will hold onto it for a while and use it,- im sure i could get more than what i paid for it if i did sell it eventually. In the mean time im going to hook it all up in my garage.

One big thing to remember!

Make sure it shuts off or does not over flow! because we flooded are unit with 6000lts and man WHAT I NIGHT MARE THAT WAS  :'(

Waste was good as we used 40/40 ROs and my system Back washed on start up, so top of my head 25 or 30 % waste - I think.

sounds good andy- from your picture it looks the same unit- but mine just has the tank and booster pump too to run off domestic supply. It has the back wash / flush feauture built in so you just push a button - are these 4040 ro's? on this system? - they look longer to me? if so i should be able to find suppliers for new ro membranes quite easy, not cheap though.

looks like it has the standard 40/40 "champ" ro membrane housings as used by ionics amongst others, a good quality set by any standards

We didnt have to push any buttons on the water RO system when it was set up, because it was fully automatic system the only one we had to each time was just for the transfer pump
