part of window cleaning is collecting on an evening but if there in juring the day and dont pay i let them mount up to 4 or 5 months they will soon be chasing you down the road to pay you
Part of window cleaning is not collecting at all, I did this years ago I have far better things to do than go out collecting money for a job done and not get paid for it either, pay online or post it, evening collection no chance unless I am driving by it, that that never happens alot.

YOU HAVE TO REMEMBER 1 thing, you are not paid to collect so if you do say £20 an hour, collecting the payment brings it down to £15, if they are not in and you go back again down to £10..................... can see the point ?

Every custys different personally I dont give a toss if the are naughty or nice so long as they keep using me and paying me within a reasonable time frame, I consider reasonable time frame within 14 days for newish jobs and anything up to about 60 days for long term customers.

tbh I like to have a debtors list because it gives me a feeling of security, if it pes down for the next month or I can't work for some other reason then I have the funds on my debtors list to meet my ongoing payments.

Different strokes for ...ya know the rest

agree with the last part, if I am owed it is good IMO, late payments get charged a fee.

i tell everyone upfront, I am that type of person, I did send out a memo to all customers last year as I was getting p'ed off at payment owing for a month and getting them the next time I cleaned sometimes longer, I add £2.50 every 28 days, if they dont like it then they should pay on time, I also say thios to them, may sound harsh but I run a business not a charity and I do not work for free nor do I give free credit, if I could I would not be window cleaning  ;)

There is nothing more annoying, you know they are in but won't answer the door.
Some couples have strange relationships, one will often exploit the other.
She won't pay because she thinks he should or vise verse. Or one is really tight.
Not all couples take equal responsibility for household bills.
I have seen guys move in with single girls or mums. He won't pay because it's not his house. He may well be enjoying all the creature comforts, but he won't put his hand in his pocket. You have some houses where only one partner handles the money, or can be trusted with it, if you catch the wrong one in they are always skint.
They never change though, it's always the same ones that never have cash in the house. They know you come round every month, but they would never think of putting some cash on one side for you.
They won't even write a cheque until you are standing on the door step, they know you have been because you leave a slip, couldn't they write a cheque out so it's ready for you when you call back?
I left for work at 7.15 this morning and got back in at 8pm tonight. I have told them all, no more collecting in the new year. I am about to lose a few customers, but the ones I lose anyone else is welcome to them. Dai
