Pure water alone will not dull, damage or do anything to your van or trim that any other kind of water will do, it is no different to rain water.

Ian
Yes it does, have a look at the back of my van.
Brushing it definately does.
I've proved it.

When we get a decent day and I can be arsed I'll take some pictures to prove it. ;)

I'm not going down this road again, it's boring, and people think they know better than me. ::)

What an earth makes you think water is going to damage your trim?
Its just pure water for goodness sake, it is NO DIFFERENT FROM RAIN WATER!!!

I'm not talking about the bristles of the brush marking anything, I'm talking only of the water.

The water we use isn't even anything like as pure as it can be.

for instance; The freezing point of the water we use for window cleaning is a little below zero degrees, the freezing point of VERY pure water is several degrees below zero, and that is not anecdotal, that is a fact!

You are right mate, ignore the doubters who think pure water is magical.

I'll show you pictures of mine when it's dry. ;)

Martin, that wasn't a dig at you...it was one at Squeaky!!

If you could capture rain water, particularly rain water that has been falling for 30 minutes or so, and you could also collect in a manner that would not get it contaminated then you could most certainly use it to clean windows with.

Plastic trim does dull with weathering, but the back bumper area will soon look ropey, hoses being dragged over, dirt gathering, feet stepping on it when you clamber into the back and so on.

If you want to prove that water at the purity level used by window cleaners can take the glaze off either plastic trim or paintwork, show me the SCIENTIFIC proof, I'm not interested in someone saying that they heard someone talking about something they read about someone who said....well, you get the picture.
I've read many times of people claiming that pure water is more aggressive than ordinary tap water (or rain water) really??
Give me a link to the neutral research papers and their conclusions and I'll eat my words.

We only measure the water purity in parts per million, truly pure water is measured in parts per BILLION!

A vehicle washed in tap water from a very hard water area...now that will cause more problems than a window cleaners pure water!

Hi Irish window clean,
I would be more concerned with the rust if the van is only a year old. What part of Ireland do you work? Im on the west coast.

Hi Bluez,

Do you do any work in Kerry or is there any wfp being done there? Was in Killarney two weeks ago.
I was thinking of starting out there in the near future....Getting fed up here in the UK....lol
