was asked to seal some limestone flags today, made by brockstone or summat?   anyone done this, i can use my sealer on them as its for block paving only.

  Bastille Limestone Flooring

Bastille Limestone is one of our hardest and least porous natural limestones. Tiles are chipped to remove the square-ness from the sawn edges. The chipped limestone edge is then padded. The finished edging appears antique and worn which is very popular for period properties and restoration projects. The limestone surface finish is semi-honed to create a level but still lightly textured surface. This limestone comes in large format slabs which have been calibrated to 20mm thick for ease of fitting.


 just googled this, maybe this is them?    would not fancy sealing them!!!!!

Please tell me you know the difference between Concrete & Limestone?

Anyway rant over, Drive Surgeon here is a web-ste that does a limestone sealer, You most problerbly want The MN Stainstop. I have used it on granite, it is not cheap so price it right, but it is very easy to use.

But I would not even think about sealing at this time of the year, to damp & to cold.

My point was that you need to be sure what the material is before asking ? How many posts do you read about sealing this time of year, on paving that has'nt been correctly identified and can it be cleaned with brick acid ? OK Roger you made your point - I will revise more

I agree with you on that, again personally I don't use "brick acid" for a mainternace clean, don't see the need for something that aggressive, if it's only dirt, algae etc.
