I think it may be ok if your desperate as a last resort on one-off jobs but how can you promote it as a solution to finding staff as an employer ??
I've been approached by a local agency and quoted similar prices but there's no way I could survive for long paying out those fee's on a regular basis. How much do you pay your staff cleaners ?

Sorry but can't agree that it's a solution ???

We pay our staff £7.30 p/h, so £9.56 is not a great deal of difference, especially when you take into account all the other costs involved with having your own employees. Not to mention the stress of making sure they always have enough work.

As a ball-park-figure, we tender for contracts based on an estimate of the cleaner hours required x £15 p/h. So if a large one-off contract comes along and we need temporary staff to cover it, I would definately be interested in using an agency.

I have not done it yet, so I am pleased to now have a bit more info, and I am glad MK1 had a good experience

our staff cleaners are on £6.00ph the market here in lincolnshire is cut throat to say the least....most of the cleaning jobs advertised are minimum wage.

we do try & work on quality not price but try telling a new customer that  ::) ::) it may not be a long term solution unless its a top priced contract.

our work tends to be peaks and troughs so its very difficult to employ full time staff........take this week flat out more work than we can manage worked booked solid included sat/sun.......but nothing much in for next week apart from regular contracts (bread & butter) so the agency workers are a perfect solution.

we try to use x £12.50ph for regular contracts but you are lucky to get the contract at that. it really is tough at the minute the big boys have been  trying to sqeeze us for quite a while but we will not be defeated............................. we hope  ;D ;D
