2yrs to the week my old van (Renault Extra) snapped cam belt costing just short of £1000 to put right.....
. On wednesday heading down A19 fresh van Renault Kangoo broke down . I had flashbacks of my extra van but i thought cant be unlucky twice...... You guessed it same fault, bust cam belt, my local garage very good in getting it back on road after 2 days, new pistons and valves etc..... I was told by seller of van he had put new belt on previous year so i thought about another 25k miles to replace... When garage stripped down found original belt still on after 120k miles, so moral of story is if you dont know for sure how many miles cam belt has done get it changed...............
