Mrs T. (A pleasant Sri Lankan lady)
Came out of her house waving a key at me.
"I owe you an apology" she said, "I'm so sorry I was so late paying you last time, (four months ago and I just didn't go back) will you forgive me and please take me back?"
I said "Do you understand why I stopped coming? It was very irksome (good word eh?) having to wait four months to be paid."
Mrs T. " Yes I'm very sorry, here's a key to my side gate and can I pay you in advance as I'm often out the country?"
Me: "Ok, but how about you pay me for this one (extra £1 from now on by the way) and pay by standing order?"
Mrs T. "That's fine, thank you very much!"
Me: "Welcome back!"
See - I don't
always cut my nose off to spite my face!
