Do we "Clean" windows, or do we "Wash" them? Does it make a difference?  I say we are Window "Cleaners".

A guy that works for me absolutely insists that we are window "Cleaners".   

I hear it both ways, but I prefer "Window Cleaning". Does it matter?

I've just gone the other way (prefer window washing because it describes what we do wfp). You've been reading too many uk forums and become anglaisised. You'll be drinking tea next and crooking your little finger.

Good point, to clean means wipe which a trad person does . To wash means to rinse so those with wfp could now call themselves a window washer

Its what the customers call us that counts. Generations have called us window cleaners, changing to washers may confuse them. I suggest they will always call us cleaners because they always have. Its a bit like calling a hoover a vaccum.

I see where you are coming from on that one but alot of people say your a window washer not as many as window cleaner but still some.

What ever you say window washer or window cleaner, it is all the same IMO
As long as the customer is happy does it really matter.

That is funny! I like tea but a cold brew in Texas goes down really easy. (After work, of course). 

Seriously, Jared; my main sub-contractor will correct some one if they say; "are you a window washer"?  "No, we are window CLEANERS", he says.

I say "We wash the window and also we clean it because after it is washed and rinsed it is clean when it dries; and when we scrub it with a scrubber and then squeegee it off it is also clean".

So, to me we are both; but I do describe the business I have as a "window cleaning" business.

I agree  that what the customer calls us is OK. As long as we are good at what we do.

And I love the UK forums.
