They are all over the net at the mo with sponsored links.

How can they say that a Merlin is a better RO than a 40 inch one? That's total rubbish. Whoever is behind this is deffo a good saleman and bigs the systems up well but when u boil it all down to basics its overhype.

A merlin based sys will be more expensive to run than a 40 inch and BOY watch the waste water gush out of it. The thing about only using John Guest fittings is just sales hype as well. My Ionics sys uses loads of hozelock type fittings and I dont have any probs at all. I dont like the way they describe their product as better than a 40 inch RO one. Anyone with even a little knowledge knows this just isnt true.

If u are looking for a bl++dy good system at a similar price that is a real one try Purefreedom. I know u have a Purefreedom system Ian and so do I and I sure know which one I would choose.

yes I have freedom system, I reccomend window cleaning systems because they are near the guy, I have spoke to them many times and after sales service is good with them, there set ups are different to freedoms yes and IMO 40 is better that merlin based.  there reasons for the charge has good reasons, but if anyone wanted a 40inch they could from them, they also plate the back of the van something as far as I am aware no other company does.

Matt.

A 40 inch system will produce water a lot faster and also with far less waste water. A 40 inch can be run nicely at around 50% product to 50% waste. A Merlin will chuck out more like 25% product to 75% waste at best.

Ian Ive seen that floor plating on the site. It's very heavy stuff and IMO will serve no real purpose. If u use Protectakote ur van floor is well protected as it is. That lining will be slippery for reels and stuff. OK it will be fine for walking on but it puzzles me why you would want to add weight and cost when there is no advantage.

the reason I think it is a good idea is if you take your hoses in an out all day the protectakote will wear off with plating it will not, I dont have it on mine yet only protectakote so will wait and see how long it lasts. You can see in pics of peoples set outs what I mean if you have a look.
as for the weight it will not make much difference IMO, some uses ratchet straps and I use and steel custom made cage for my tank the straps are lighter but mine is safer and will last longer.

Hmmmm  I spose u may have a valid point about the protectakote wearing eventually Ian. Personally I would just dab a little more on if it did wear but if u've dealt with Freedom as u have u will know that if u ask them to plate ur van out they would and do a very good job of it.

I wouldnt bother but each to their own I suppose  :)

A customer mentioned them to us.
They told him they would fit a complete system in just one day, which included prepairing and coating the floor (what about drying time) !!
Its not practicle or possible to do the job properly in a day - well it is possible but that would mean no checks could be carried out on the pumps, charging relay, RO/Di, and no time to run the unit to check for leaks from poles, fittings,RO etc. Even drilling the floor pan and prepairing and tightning the tank securing bolts, plates and chassis correctly can take half a day if the vehicles fuel tank needs dropping to secure the water tank that part of the job can and often does take a full day.

they can fit in one day they did mine, they send you the protectakote you paint it, if not they do it for you but takes I think three days, they also check the system before it goes in the van, and also once it is all in the van for leaks ect, they do not guarentee it will be fitted in one day but they do work late to try and do this. They are engineers so they know about the fitting side and they cages are custom made for you all is set up when you arrive. If anyone want details on there systems give me a bell.

Glynn ur customer told you wrong info.

If they do the van floor they want your van for three days!! Two of these are for the floor coat to go off.

I had a 400 litre system fitted in a day by them. They sent me the protectakote out as soon as I ordered for me to put it on. Its easy to do by anyone. It comes in a kit with full instructions. My system was assembled by them before I arrived and according to them fully tested as much as possible. I spent a day in Grimsby and Cleethorpes and they called me when it was ready. They had checked it for leaks and stuff and showed me right round it and also it working. I am not the only one I know who has a system from them and they, like me are very happy with the system and after sales service.

I dont think it's impossible in any way to fit a system properly in a full day. Like Ian says they are also an engineering company and I had to my knowledge 3 to 4 of their guys working installing my sys.

What vans did you guys have the kit fitted into ?
I would be interested to know how long they take to fit out a VW Transporter.
