My pump is wired directly to my van battery and the switch on the pump gave up the ghost so off to cleantech for a new switch £12.
how does a varisteam work is it simply a resistor??

Varistreams are a must,i can`t believe anyone can work without one,they do away with the pump pressure switch they have an on/off button and save SOOOO much water,don`t THINK about getting one just  GET ONE

the varisteam is an electronic speed controller for the pump motor.

the numpty on the front controls the speed the motor runs... and on off switch.

the varistream also has pressure sensors. so when you want to stop the water ie going between window to window, you have a flow valve on your hose line near the pole, or on your belt then when you close the valve- the varistream senses it and turns the motor off, so you dont waste water or electricity- much better than walking to your vehicle and back each time you want to turn off and on - and you dont waste water inbetween. rather than a full power torrent of water all the time, you can slow the pump and slow the flow.

At the moment i have a minibore control valve on the hose cliped to my belt ,the pump shuts off when i close the valve .

I think you may mean the pressure switch? if you do the varistream by passes this switch.

yes you can still use a pole valve to switch the water off at the pole. The varistream will detect that the pump is struggleing and switch the pump off. When you open the valve the varistream will start the pump up again. Brilliant

get a varistream well worth it, have shut of valve on hose end to turn water on and off, varistream is a pumps best freind

I am about to wire up my varistream. Can anyone tell me do I need to make any adjustments to the pump (sureflo 100 psi) or do I just connect the varistream up?

I fitted one a little while ago, think they are a great idea but have found they use alot of battery...does anyone else find this?
