greenhouse quote

hi guys have been asked to quote a greenhouse clean , sorry no pics  , its approx 90ft long by 60ft wide in 3 spans , so there are 6 slopes and glass all round its about 12 ft to the eaves and they need it cleaned inside and out , i will be able to use the pole inside as its almost empty at the moment , i had a quick scrub with the pole and the dirt comes off ok but there is more dirt on the inside than out , only problem with access is going to be the inner slopes but i thought maybe some scaffold planks laid up the slpoe might work so you have something to stand on , what do you think about pricing thanks alan

  £150-£200?

you can stand in the gutter and would put the planks horizontal above the gutter just to give you a bit more room to work the gutters have an acro underneath to take extrea weight , i think its more like a weeks work for 1 so 2/3 hours is way off , how much would you charge for a weeks graft 1 man

surely not with a wfp ? the outside should be quickest, rinsing it down first to soak while you  start on the inside, i wouldnt have thought 1week, but if you think so, i just think hundreds and hundreds is not going to be accepted by the owner, it will get dirty soon enough and a regular clean might be accepted if you can give a decent price. if its really horribly dirty now for the first clean, i would give them an estimate and then give them the final bill after finishing the week. as it may take longer than expected. work out what you want to earn per hour of work you are doing it , but dont over blow it.

for a big job like this i would probably charge £250 straight off and explain that it will take a long time as it is so dirty over the years. and leave it at that whatever time it takes you, but try and get it done properly as quick as i can???   others may have different opinions...

Hi Alan,

1 weeks sounds a really long time to me as well, but theres no pics so your the man who knows best!

As for your answer I will ask you a question - How much do you want for a weeks work?

Maybe break that down into a day rate - telling the owner that you'll work X hours per day and it may take upto a week to complete

Al
