I would personally prefer to use a suitable upholstery cleaning pre-spray.

In the past, I've never had problems with this sort of soiling when using a Woolsafe micro-splitter, Spitfire Advanced or Prochem Fabric Restorer.  Worst case scenario would call for a return to the time honoured problem solver of a buffered Oxybrite type shampoo solution.

Because of the growing presence of pH sensitive dyes in upholstery, I always keep as close as possible to pH neutral.

Safe and happy cleaning :)

and price it well , one of my staff fell sick on friday and i went too two suites witch sound the same as the one you have to do , it took me  4 hours each  to do both of them !!!

useing the  t.m  h.m heay duety pre spay and lots of heat   a right pain in the bum so charge well or walk away i will be from now on im not knocking myself to bits for four hours for 60 pounds anymore i would rather have the staff sat in the unit polishing my cars then do stuff like this  these two suites made me go home and put the prices of my suites up buy 20 %

Hi Tony

The key to this is often to get your water nice and hot ,approx 70c.

I would spray with Prochem Pureclean, rub in with a microfibre cloth soaked in same and extract.

Spray into a bucket or tank if near so that thewater is actually coming out hot rather than just reading hot on the thermometer.

Cheers

You have mentioned using microfibre cloths a few times on suites, but I find them very difficult to use as they simply crunch up and you get your fingers " skinned ".

If using over a small sponge they are almost impossible to stop slipping around and they dont last very long.

Is there a technique for using them ?

Hi Rob

Because I am now a wimp I wear gloves when cleaning suites and this probably helps to keep the cloths from sticking too much.

Go to Halfords and buy the car micro fibre mitts. They are alot stronger and the micrfibres are nice and soft, there great for upholstery.
If you need a bit of muscle.
I have a number of horse brushes for the hard/bad areas thati can get a way with brushing. These are not made of horse hair they are made of soft nylon,I buy them frompet/horse,saddlery shopes they are the brushes used for brushing down horses. They are bigger than your normal brush and have an elastic strap over the top to put your hand hrough. They are brilliant for cushions and arms.

Are the microfibre mitts better than using the little " bonnet type mitts " which I usually use, initially with dry foam or m/s .
