Just been asked to price a big job, all internal windows only.

136 windows measuring roughly 6ft x 4ft on each floor.

THERE ARE 8 FLOORS, totalling 136 x 8 = 1088 windows.

ALSO reception area, 84 windows measuring roughly 25ft high x 4ft wide. (thinking of buying ionics pro 10 to do the reception windows if i get the contract as there will be more jobs similar to this, (i hope)

WHAT would you charge ??

if buying an ionics pro 10 to do it I would say a shed load    as they are not cheap in any way

i know,

the portable ones are around £8.5k ,thats including a pole.

Like i said, its my chance to offer this service as i have the opportunities if i do well.

i would first question why they are only having the insides done and who does the outsides as in most cases firm that does outs usually does insides.

I always charge double for inside windows for the first clean. Has always worked for me, but i am guessing others will have something to say about that.

are these all patio size windows? any chance you have some pics? what access problems are there with windows etc, hard to give a price without seeing it, and knowing what problems there will be if it was straight patio door size windows no problems at all getting to window I would go in at £350 to allow for moving and going up stairs etc,

It does depend on access, I see £1400 etc as ideas, 136 windows can be done in one day without problem, but again would depend on access, now if that can be done in 1 day 1 person £1400 they would laugh at you.

I personally think they will change there mind on the frequency when they see the cost

one thing i will guarentee you is that you WILL not clean all those windows in 1 day, that im sure.

Yes they are roughly patio sized windows that start at window ledge height from inside (therefore you cannot reach most of the window by hand)

It is a brand new office block, you know the style, cafes & shops on ground floor with all offices above.

This is a serious amount of windows and a job that must be done proffesionaly and very well.

Sorry no pictures, but there are 1088 windows in total & massive reception windows, instead of using scissor lift as specified i would buy a pro 10, for this job and afew more coming up.

I would take my 2 best window cleaners on it, and reckon we would be there atleast 2 days.

for a inside job of this size i wouldve liked to charge double the amount of windows, i.e. £1 a window. but then would be nice to get the job wouldnt it. anything from £1500 to £2000 mate

work how many metres of glass there is and then charge ,for example 60 pence a metre.this is the best way to price jobs like this

is this building empty or will you be climbing over desks,chairs ,computers,plant pots,people all over the place this would alter the quote a hell of a lot for me  : :

If it takes you more than one day have a day work sheet signed with all the windows listed on it that you have cleaned.
Like ground floor front, then they know where you have done in case anyone messes up the windows after you have done them.

We did a builders clean spent most of the morning doing 1 side of the building, then some labourers came cutting flags and all the dust went onto the clean windows , they looked like we had not cleaned them . But the foreman knew we had done that area, so it was extra money to redo them
