New Van
« on: October 29, 2007, 05:28:13 pm »
Got info on the new LDV maxus van today.  Looks a nice van with good package for £13k plus VAT.  Same sizes as LWB transit more or less.

Any thoughts on these vans or any review website I can look at.

thanks
Mark

1st clean are you talking about the old ones as Im talking about the new ones and id be buying new.

I looked at the Fiat but thought the interior was poor quality compared to the Transit.

Didnt drive it though.

thanks

I tested a maxus for a week, it's reasonably quick and handles ok but I found the build quality quite poor and there are far better vans around for the money. Renault/vauxhall I enjoyed and the new transit is super but frankly over priced. I'd have a Sprinter in a heartbeat.

VW are lovely vans but the parts are twice as much but don't last twice as long, Transit's are cheap, Toyotas are ugly things but drive well. These are a few I've had don't know what I'm getting next.

I have had them all from Sherpa's to Transits to Midi's but the best I ever had was a VW Transporter diesel.

Allways started, never let me down, cheap to run because it never let me down, it did a head gasket once but that was the biggest expense. Still had the original clutch when it went.

Bought any bits I needed from the local German spares shop. One big service before the winter and one in the spring to say thanks and that was it.

It did 250k in 10 years, couldnt recommend one highly enough.
