tell the customer to keep the dog away, if a dog bites me it is asking for me to do it back (picture the customers face you have the dog by its cheeks biting its ear, when they comment just say I am showing the dog what its like, would you like me to bite you next?

jokes aside when leafleting never put your had in a letter box (as you found out) push the flyer through, if cleaning windows with a dog tell the customer to lock it away, if not do the front only and charge them for the lot. we should all be able to work safe.

When a dog lives in a house you can usually see scratches on the door at that certain level and dirty marks where it has brushed against the door frame.

rattle the letterbox first! wait for barking, growling or that rush of air as it comes hurtling down the hallway!!! won't work every time as some of the little darlings are clever!  ;D

Go back to her, say you understand it can't be the dog because it was in the livingroom.

Tell her that she must have a faulty letterbox, and its her responsblility, to ensure that nobody can be hurt on her property.

Explain that you have been advised not to work for 6 weeks, and because of this you will be losing £1000 per week in lost income.

Then ask for her insurance details, so you can make a claim for lost income plus pain and suffering.

use a clipboard or a5 sized peice of cardboard, fold the flyer over the front from the middle, push through letter box.
doesnt screw up the flyer, especially for those letter boxes with brushes inside, its quicker & doesnt bite your fingers off.

Walked into a garden one day and the customer was with the dog in the garden, she said it was okay as the dog was blind. Still found the back of my leg though, >:( Christ i was raging  >:(i thought the customer was going to cancel the next time i went round only to find out the dog died a few days later,  ;D never laughed as much in my life.  :D Still do her windows 6 years on.
