stain from flowers
« on: October 25, 2007, 10:56:54 am »
I quoted last night for a clean and there is a very light yellow stain which the customer says is where she dropped a vase with some lillies in.

She seems to think it was caused by the centre bit of the flower (the stamen?).

Has anyone any ideas what might shift this for us please?

Thanks

Simon

Have removed in the past with Hydramasters OJ and lately with Eco Spotter.

As above , any citrus gel or solvent should do the trick ,following normal tests.

Have always had success with carbon tet, but must be sure of carpet type and boiling white terry towels after the job is a must.

Should I just rinse citrus gel with hot water then?

Same as Chris OJ or Eco it's usually easy unless they've vanished it first.

cit gel will work but apply then light movement of brush then allow to dwell for 5-10  and rinse (hot water if synth or Acidic if wool) then repeat as necessary.

I dont think it is the lilly pollen. Lilly pollen normally comes out with citrus gel.
Several times over the last few years, I have come across terrible stains caused from vase water which do not come out. I think it is the little sachet of plant food which goes in the water. Dont know what it is but its lethal!!
