[maclock cleaning]

hi to all

at the moment maclock is just doing domestic and commercial cleaning, but very interested in the carpet cleaning.......could anyone give any advise on how much it would cost us to get up and running? we are just looking at cleaning house carpets so dont know if we would need less equipment? any tips would be great?

If you already have your own transport, as I presume you have, be prepared to spend at least £4,000 on a good hwe system with all the accessories such as upholstery tool, turbo dryer, carpet groom etc, etc. If you also want to offer a dry clean service  then something like Texatherm or Dry Fusion will probably set you back almost as much again.

In addition to Fintans estimate also allow time and money for training. I would budget £300 to £500 for training in carpet, upholstery cleaning and specialist stain removal. This would stand you in good stead for the future. Courses to look at would be ones run by the NCCA. IICRC and possibly Prochem.

If you are working on a tight budget buy good quality secondhand from someone who tried and failed these machines will hardly be used.

Or from a regular user on the boards you should get an honest assesment of the condition of the equipment.

If you know nothing about the sellar be careful.

You can always buy replacement motors and pumps


If you have good regular cash flow from your domestic side  you could lease and go for  a good starter kit from any of the leading suppliers.
