I've tried something similar to that...... funny, they turned me down as well.

I think you will find Yellow Pages is working for someone on here - cant remember who - perhaps they will let us know.

I have not yet signed up wiith YP this year yet. There coming back to me with "something of interest".

Someone very recently posted Shaun Ashmore has a big clamp on his wallet - must get the details of where he got it from so Im not tempted.

hi there

yell.com provide a lot of the info to google, and also you can get a link from yell.com to your website.

as this is an inbound link, it helps your website.

therefore from my point of view money well spent,

regards

martin

Del,

Not really mate, I have it + the web link and it hardly produces anything.

To be honest I will be spending much less on YP and getting rid of yell.com and spending my money elsewhere next year.
Unless your on the front page of the CC section it's a waste of money.

Was it you at Leighton Buzzard who told me your wife was expecting, hope everything is going well and your getting plenty of work.

not re-newing yell.com this time done nothing, yp has been brill this year getting calls from it nearlly every day, make sure you ask the rep for the 6 A's placing in the bottom right corner it gets your ad to the front no matter what your initial or company name ;) ;)

That right, so why am I on page 5 then, could it be that everyone else does the same.

YP are a joke of a company with vastly over priced adverts that dont work, that is a fact unless you are on page 1 of the section.

Hi,
I got pestered into going back with yell.com last year, with bags of promises about the quantity and volume of calls I would be getting.

Unfortunately, as I expected from previous experience, it was a waste of money with hardly any calls.

This year, despite being called time & time again by the rep, I've declined their invitation.

Just had a call from prospect - got my number from 2005 Yellow Page directory.
Obviously some people dont throw the old directories away. Theres a thought - why advertise every year in the same directories.

hi guys y/p does and doesnt work for me but what i hate is when i check the performance of my adverts on yell.com, i think its made up,  one month i had 10 people who looked at my advert, then i had 340 next month but funny thing is no one called , ive got two adverts on there one with floorcare and one with cleaning, and it doesnt help when they tell you youve had 340 of people looking but nobody calling.

anyway never again,

thanx jonny

Hi Guys

I had a reasonable response to Yell advert until they got greedy and put the sponsored listings in , which meant normal ads never came out top.

Yell pesponse dropped and so did the reps face when I told him I would not be renewing!

Cheers

I have to say it takes so long to get the new yellow pages, im in this year which came out in september and still haven't got it, and to be honest im only interested in this years to see my first advert but when im looking for someone im still looking at the 2004 edition.  I was also at a friends yesterday and noticed they still got the 2005 edition.  Maybe its worth only advertising in every other edition, that way when yell reps come back to you the following year they may be more inclined to give u a better deal??

Doug, could you not buy the sponsered listing?  We did and it returns alot better than a standard listing in terms of its click through rate.  You do still need a good site to convert them to calls.

Not saying your site network is bad Doug, but i have seen some shockers.  This is more likely to be the reason for a poor return from yell with weblink listings.  Last year our weblink returned 6:1 or something like that, not great numbers but it returned.
