Hi

I found a Numatic Rotary scrubbing machine on Ebay. With the machine there is a soft scrubbing brush for scrubbing in prey spray. Would this be as good as the bonnet mop or charley pads you all talk about.  would it be to harsh on some types of carpet?

I've been doing the same thing. looking at rotaries on ebay and you do have to be careful cos some are dedicated polishers @400rpm.

I think you will be OK at up to 200 for most jobs. Is that right?

There's a guy on there who regularly sells victors, not the cheapest but seems to offer good kit. I think he's on here too sometimes.

A scrubbing brush would destroy a carpet, no matter what speed. A bonnet mop
(or someting similar) is all you should be using. The scrubber brush is for hard floors not soft.
I have a numatic and a victor. The victor is a great machine. Well balanced. the numatic is good to, but I always notice a difference when I use the victor.

Do not go above 200 RPM for bonnet cleaning carpets ..Full stop!

AG is correct 400rpm will rip them,

I just bought a numatic off ebay (£75).  Its a 150 rpm.

I thought you could use it with a brush to agitate pre spray on most types of carpet?

150 rpm for a carpet rotary is about right! my chemstactor spins at 175 rpm and thats what Chemspec recomend as per IICRC training, you should see a Dry-Fusion machine it must spin at way over the 200 rpm mark!

Hi Guys

I cleaned over half a million square metres at M&S head office (not in one day  ) using rotary with shampoo  and brush.

In those days , 70's, the process was called crystalisation , which is basically the same as encapsulation although the chems are probably better now.

Results were O.K , carpet was cleaned approx once per year.

As for brushes they were worn in before on concrete.

A stiff brush on a newish carpet was like trying to control a Rottweiler on heat

Hi,

We use a dual speed numatic (42kg 17inch) with a nylon shampoo brush to agitate presprays on commercial carpets.  Just remember to get it wet before you fire it on the floor or you will get quite a kick off it.

For commercial floors you need the extra weight, a host just doesnt cut it.

Never tried it with a shampoo or encap, but it would probably perform as well as a bonnet system.

Juist make sure that its a shampoo brush and not a scrubbing brush
