I know all about bad backs, car crash december done me in, I have had physio ever since and acupunture even looked like hellraiser at one point (is it me but it hurts like hell) the responce I got when i first clenched my fist was I have found the problem this is where the pain is coming from (so does it again just to watch me think hes a sadist, MRI scan will show what the problem is. I myself had nerve damage, leg leg didnt work right and disk bulge as luke says sack split (you would not move at all you would scream, I just eat painkiller all day, get needles stuck in me and physio I think just likes to make me take just a little more pain each time I go, they do work, I would recommend using a BUPA one expensive yes worth for it sure. Not looking forward to this winter but im sure I will live. I count myself as lucky was about 5miles an hour under being crippled and bed ridden for rest of my life.

Oh by the way not try to put the wollies up anyone, if you have a problem with your back etc get it sorted, one of my customers didnt and shes in a wheel chair now by just walking down the road and before there was nothing wrong with her.

I broke my back 17 years ago, and it still aches now when I'm working or driving for long enough.

I'm fine in the van because I'm sat upright.

If I'm in a car it's much worse, especially if it's got soft seats.

Right now, listen up you youngsters.

I'm 63 this year and still going strong - and I've had my share of mishaps over the years. (Broken arm/wrist/both heels/ankles)

Let me tell you the secret of overcoming the "aches and pains" - KEEP WORKING ;D

If I take time off (I had a weeks holiday in September) it takes me a couple of days to get back into it again.  I feel old and decrepit, creaking and groaning.

A few hours work and I start to loosen up, after a few days I feel almost 50 again ;D

And I can still do a full day's work on the ladder.

Only concession I make is to take a daily dose of glucosamine sulphate - I started to get the dreaded arthur in my hands, but the pills have sorted that out ;D

A few pints every night and a good cholesterol-filled take away every Friday and I'm fit for another 60 years ;D ;D

Cheers,

Ian

Neil said "How can ribs be "popped" out of place please?

A tendon can only be in one place...........where else is it going to go?"

Everything is connected. Muscle problems had pulled the ribs slightly out of place. We're talking small amounts here. Same thing with the tendon. It was pulled slightly towards my armpit because a muscle had contracted into a knot in my bicep (Luke, see my other reply ;)). Pressure and stretching from the therapist released the muscle knots and allowed things to return to where they should be and believe me you can feel the knots disappear.

most of these crooks will tell you things like "your disc is slipped" or you have "knotted muscles", the latter is impossible and a slipped disc would make you nearly paralised, I know my mum has one and she is very badly ill with serious spine problems. A slipped disc means that one of the sacks protecting your spine has burst and there is usually nerve damage. How can a massage heal a burst sack that has leaked into your spine, the majority are rip off merchants, Luke

Luke, with all due respect, what a load of (insert what you like here). Please let me answer things in the order you have raised them. Knotted muscles are not impossible. This is simply a stupid comment. I,m truly sorry about your Mum's predicament, but I never mentioned slipped discs. I know all about them. My late Mother had big problems there and I have two damaged ones. Not burst, damaged. To say " How can a massage heal a burst sack" is ridiculous. Who ever suggested that? On what grounds can you say "the majority are rip off merchants"?
