Yeah, yeah. I know I'm a newbie but we've all got to start somewhere. Anyway, I've been asked to shampoo a bedroom carpet for an old lady and asked if I can possibly remove these large mauve stains.
The background is this. Carpet is wool and about 30 years old

. There was a definite smell of urine, staining around the bed and the lady (bless) has admitted the odd accident including spilling the commode (where one of the stains are). Yes, I know what you're thinking; get a new carpet, but I have been asked to try my best. Carried out warm water extraction, then a mild shampoo/agitation and another extraction and final vacuum. The mauve colour from the stains did start to come out into solution but I just couldn't get the stain out. The rest of the carpet came up OK.
Any suggestions as to what the stain is and the best way to shift it would be greatly appreciated. Is it possible that colour has previously leeched out from felt underlay???
