Hi all,

How is the best way to control the flow when you are working away from the unit?

I am fed up of running to and from my van to regulate the flow rate.

What I need is a way of regulating the flow at the pole.

i noticed that when ever i put a link to gardiners website, it does not go directly to the page, strange ??

these are ok. I have the same from Pure freedom but they wind me up . . They're always as far away as the end of the pole hose so you have to walk and find it. Also, they catch on things as you're dragging the hose and occasionly turn themselves off as they catch.

Far better is the one they do that fits onto the pole itself. I know someone that uses it and it's very good. Well worth giving them a ring.

i have a control valve on my poles, and have done away with the hose and run out with 6mm tubing, no snags whatsoever

I cannot access their website at all in any browser.  Occasionally it gives some google links to them but it's quite frustrating really.

It must be very frustrating!  It's all part of a cunning plan.  We have had a team of experts specially prepare our site so that it can appear to the rest of the world but when you log on, it automatically hides

I have a control valve from Gardiners. Just mount it on a leather holster from wintecs (or gardiners if they sell them) and the valves always at hand on your belt. I went out one day last week without my holster and was completely lost - didn't know where the valve was and couldn't work with it in my hand.

Get a Varistream. They are auto compensating, so when you have set the flow from the brush, they will automatically control the pump to keep the same flow rate at whatever height you are using the brush.

Just had a quick look for the holsters and they are a bit steep for a bit of leather! When mine wears I think I'll use a loop and clip it to my belt with a cheap karibiner (if I could spell it)

I recently had a trigger fitted to my poles, so I just have to get the flow right, then I fire at will.It is saving me loads of water too, as I used to have to go home and fill up, or do downstairs trad, now 350 litres lasts me all day WFPing the lot.

That cunning plan bit sounds like that line from the "Black Adder" TV series Alex   

I can't get any part of your site at all Alex.  I've tried IE 6.0,  Netscape 8, and Opera.  I used to be able to access it just fine.  I first noticed a problem a few weeks ago when you were posting pics on here which didn't show up.  At first I assumed you had made an error with your uploading as I could see everyone else's pictures.  However, when it became clear that everyone else could see what you were posting, I started checking my browser's settings.  When I couldn't view the pictures or the site in any of my browsers, it has caused me to wonder if there is some obscure glitch in my operating system settings - though what that might be is anyone's guess.  I've checked the setting on both firewalls and no problems there either.  I have even dropped the security settings (temporarily of course) and checked that your site hasn't somehow got onto any banned sites list in my browsers - though as I'm the only one who uses this computer I reckon that would be impossible anyway.
I'm sure the solution will reveal itself one day.  Hop[efully I will still have some hair left.
I may try Alex Wingrove's suggestion of trying yet another browser but if itr doesn't work in three of them I don't hold out much hope of it working in a fourth.

I have actually posted about this problem to a Windows XP newsgroup so maybe someone there can shed some light on it.

I have given this some thought and have not come up with any decent answer! I test our site using Firefox and IE and they both work.

The reason that you cannot copy a direct link is due to the Catalog software that we use and its frame structure. The way to post a link is to right click your mouse over the link to the section  that you want, it will come up with several options, choose the one that says copy link location. Then paste this onto the forum post like this

I always use one of our flow control valves, I work with a section of the hose just above or below the valve in my right hand, that way it is always next to my hand for adjustment.

Some have simply taken the flow valve and used Velcro or cable ties to fix it to the pole itself that way they always know where it is. This is far too technical for me so I just keep it by my hand!

I think the domain name is using forwarding so the address bar with not change
