ashby's ninja or prochem ?
« on: October 24, 2004, 09:10:03 am »
morning all just two questions. After a lot of reading on this site i am looking at getting one of these two machines, but have been unable to get prices for a decent spec ninja. Ashby's site won't let download and prochem are pricey.

Any relevent site info would be good as i am getting interest from possible customers allready.

Second quistion is leasing a good idea for part time use as am going into other deep cleaning as well eg ceilings and kitchens windowsto get variety , something i have not had for all my working years
thanks for your help , this site is an inspiration!

I am about to purchase a prochem steempro 2000 power max to add to my current machines.

Dearest cost was 1795.00+vat but have been shopping around and i think i may get it for around 1400.00+vat, with free delivery and around £100 worth of chemicals.

Was also told by many that this is a great machine. I have never used the prochem range.

Cheers

I personally don't think there is is a lot between them. Rather than look at initial price look at ongoing service and spares.
I would always advise you to look at who is nearest rather than who is cheapest.
One day down waiting for a new part will wipe out any saving you may make buying the cheapest machine.

I've got a powermax and its a great machine the only problem is the soluction and recovery tanks are to small, wish I had gone for the powerplus model instead.

As far as am aware Ashby’s sell direct where as Prochem also sell direct top £ or via agents who give discounts unless this has changed. If not changed shop around with local/far away dealers they want the sale. Pit one against an other, it your money!

I know nothing about leasing, but would have thought you had to have the machine serviced / repaired by the manufacture, probable wrong, then again buying a new machine which went wrong within the warranty period you would have to send back, cache 22.

Remember you are not dealing with the white goods people it don’t work I want a replacement NOW!

Dose any one know about the Rhino machine?

Len,

The Rhino looks good but talk to Nick about these and an alternative.

Len,

Unfortunately I did not have time to view all the stands, but the Ninja is not only made by Ashbys, though Derek has his own variations.

I looked at the Rino at carpex at Nick's suggestion.

He told me he sold his CFR machines and Switched to these

They are a bit bigger than the Ninja But they look quite Cheap and plasticy

On the plus side they come with Very big wheels maybe 10" compared to Ninja;s 7" I think

You can have any size pump you like in them up to and including a 500 psi which is the one that Nick is running. He said he has had no trouble with them and the cleaning performance is outstanding.

The one That was being run at the show was I think 300 psi version and was not to loud(along with stair climbing, noise Is a big thing with me which is why I don,t think I could live with a recoil even though it is otherwise a fantastic machine)

Very Very Interesting  though was the series/parralell vac motor set up(VOvAO)
The owner, I can'nt remember his name said he will set it up for you any way you want

Call me for a chat if you want Len 0800 281 494
( I,v still got those power stretcher tips if ever you need them)

Its worth checking the clean craft american website and looking at the Eclipse machine, it has 3 vac motors, 500 psi, powerful heater, built in silencer, drop in dust filter to allow machine to be used to pre vac, etc, etc.
Having studied a few american forums these machine seem very popular and reliable so no worries there, Solutions Nick is importing the machines and i hope to get mine in a few weeks so I'll no doubt be giving reviews in the near future.

They come in a few specs but i think for a top spec machine its about two and a half grand give or take a little, Nick could answer your question more accuratley.

What with the Recoil already doing very well and now Nick importing another American model, I can see the likes of Alltec finding a lot of competition on their door steps.

It may encourage the british companies to start producing triple vac machines with decent psi. Any competition between machine manufacturers can only be good for us the consumer :)

Hi there i have just restarted my Carpet and Upholstery business, and purchased a Ashbys Ninja, it is not cheap, but i tell you guys out there it is a fantastic powerful machine with drying time of half hour on short pile carpets, i use the blower on longer pile to maintain the same drying time.  I am getting jobs because i come over very confident , that because i know how good the machine is. what i dont know yet is whether it is prone to breakdowns, fingers crossed.  by the way this a excellent forum site.
