The point that Jay is making is there is an option available here should you need it.

I, like probably all of us produce my own water, however, you may get caught short, use more water in a day than expected and want an easy option.

Yes we can tap straight into a main supply and DI our own, but the impact on the resin cannister in the vehicles is very high compared to running TDS of 5/6 through.

I work heavily in southampton and will bear this in mind as sometimes we do run dry.

Wish I lived near Southampton.  As a short term stopgap, I am running a twin DI in the van with tap water TDS of 200 - 250.  My RO membranes went kaputt recently a long time before they should have and I can't sort it out until the water analysis comes back.  The suspicion though is that there is increased iron content in the water supply.  There are a lot of disused old ironworks around my way and maybe the recent exceptionally heavy rain allowed iron into the water supply.  So it looks like an iron pre-filter is needed but I don't want to start risking new membranes until this is confirmed.  This is part of the Sutton & East Surrey supply.
There's nothing like hard water and DI only to get me managing my flow rate a lot better      .
