Surface Cleaning Fluids
« on: September 18, 2007, 11:03:39 pm »
What sort of general surface cleaning fluids are people using on a day to day basis?

I have heard TFR can be good to coat things such as block paving before a wash, but worried it might damage the brickwork?

Thanks

when u say 'surface' what do u mean?

I clean lino, tiles, laminate floors, also kitchen surfaces (laminated/real wood/granite) so use different products.

You would be wasting your time and money putting TFR on a block paving, (not strong enough) it wouldn't damage the surface, at least the non-caustic type, if you have to use a caustic TFR, just make sure the drive has'nt been sealed or you might start to lift it in places etc. I chemical wash all surfaces I do, for me it is the only real way to get them clean without pounding the s**t out of the surface.

So your saying the caustic TFR is the way to go with precautions.

No, what I was trying to say was if you must use a TFR, then the caustic would be a better option, at least it will have some sort of kick. I mix/make all my own cleaners, strippers etc from raw materials, the only time I have used TFR (non-caustic) is on a stucco finished house wash.
