yeah me to ...a new colour change every 2 months at £78  now one bag a year of resin £75
carbon filter change every 50000 ltrs and a £3 sediment filter
I have also put another filter from the di to the tank just to catch the tiny bits of resin and it only needs
changing once a year 1 micron filter £3 but I change when I do the others anyway

It just shows what you can hide behind a fancy cover!

v8edd, looks like you know what you're up to.

I presume that it is an older system so you're not worried about invalidating the warranty.

well this crap picture might give an indication of what I have done like
1    no more  carbon filter  tube
2    no more softener tube
3    no more dam backwash salt wasting my time everyday hmm??
4    no di tube
5    ro in better place
6  **  25 litre di new
7    10 inch filters for carbon filter and carbon block and particle
8    10 inch filter after di just to catch the last particles before it goes into the pump
9     re plumbed with plastic fittings like John guest so that they don't leak any more!!

** the 25 litre di should last a year as the tds is only 004 ish and resin is about £70 a bag the savings are considerable
where the Ionics tubes are £88 ish every 2/3 months
10 also I added a thermostatic controller to regulate the water temp from under floor heating shop if this helps its where the hole in panel is and its brass
11   I installed a 30 litre water softener in the house which does the house and the van for £ 400 ish www.gapswater.co.uk

hope this clears it up for some of you and hope it helps for you to save some dosh like us EDD

question,:

the filter after the di vessal, what type is it ( name and price?) what did it cost and how often do you have to change the filter and what would be that price?

sry for all the questions, it is a fantastic idea as it covers you alot more from spotting etc just wanted to know, i dont mind asking things like this as it will help me and anyone else thinking about doing the same  ;)

cheers for the added pics by the way  ;D
