Pressure Loss in DI system
« on: September 10, 2007, 01:21:52 pm »
I have 2 x  Di system in my van runs perfectly well.

Q: If I haven’t used the system say over the weekend all the pressure in the system goes. Is this normal? Or should it hold the pressure. It only takes a min or so to pressurise again.

There are no leaks in the system visible but when the pressure drops the hozelock stop connector at the end of the line starts to drip. Again is this normal?

Just wondering if this would have any effect on the resin life or any other problems it may cause.

Thanks
Wayne

if dripping there is a leak, just like a rad in your home pressure will be escaping

IMO there should be no pressure left in the system, they are called pressure vessels cos' they are designed to withstand pressure but that's all. I plug my hose end back into the tank filler after use so there is never any pressure left in the system. When i switch the pump back on it takes only a couple of seconds for the flow to begin again. i just put an old scrim under any leaking parts (my hose reel).
