It uses more diesel, but how much i really dont know. Yes i use a customers tap to clean first, then go back round to finish off with pure, only on first cleans.

I know how to build a pro/diy hot water system for about £400. No need to spend thousands!!!!!

When I get my new van (next month I hope) I will then start working out EXACTLY where to mount and how to fit it in.

Very simple really. Im very very surprised no one else has thought of it or done it ::)

Hot water all the time ;)

Please tell all of us on this forum how you intend to build a hot water system for £400. I'm intrigued as I built a DIY hot water system using the heat of the engine which I posted on here in a previous post if you do a search for it.

What are the running costs? Would a gas bottle last all day? What do gas bottles that size cost?

£20 per refill, and i think they would last ages. we have just filled up our gas bottle, lasted 2 years, i think we go well over 100 hours out of it,  bbq patio heaters etc

Use a caravan hot water system, provides endless amounts of hot water for showers etc, and a bottle of gas lasts me ages.

And it won't cost you no where near a grand.

my thermo uses one litre of diesel an hour or so it says in the book
you can buy and fit it yourself for about and grand from webasto uk
it also uses heating oil from the green tanks 20pence a litre !!??
so for hot or warm water which is much nicer too use dries quicker its not that much really

spot on Jeff1,

The most cost effective set up is to buy a caravan gas water heater (something like a "De Morco) and link it to one of two 25ltr water containers mounted on a trolley with a booster pump if need be! and of course a 7 kg LPG gas canister!

if holding gas on a van/ car you need to clearly have sign to state you carry said gas, and may also increase your insurance premium, just had to add that to cover all reading this.  ;)

I'm hoping to get the time at the end of the month to travel down and get a demo from 'Clearview Plus'. They told me over the phone that their Concept 2/0 Hot wash costs around £7.50 per week to use hot water full time.
