Important to back up files
« on: September 08, 2007, 06:15:11 am »
A few days a go i said about the importance of backing up your files.

We was broke into, £2000 worth of damage stolen bits etc. But also took Computer, all bank details on it & a lot of back up was lost.

I would recommend that all backup be up to date & that discs are kept seperate from computer, mine werent.

I am now sorted with new computer & thanks Ian to win clean pro, i now have system back on line but needs updating as it is an old backup. My work is mainly organised through programme because of frequency of jobs & all being commercial. It used to be easy on houses years ago you just worked through your round.

I cover a large area & have varied frequencies to cope with so none get lost.
Weekly, Fortnightly. Fourweekly, Monthly, Six-weekly, Bi-monthly, Quarterly, Six-monthly & Annual.

If one thing comes out of this, it will be that i tidy the running of the business & get more organised. On top of this i,m trying to expand into other areas of cleaning, so that to organise as well. A lot of this information was lost with out backup.

Sorry to hear about the break in Gary. You are right about backing everything up. I'll do mine again on Sunday. Trouble is there is always something more immediate that needs doing instead.
