As most of you know I have recently moved and have thought of a slightly different idea to drum up some work. Just an idea and would like sensible debate on it.

Contacting local charities to offer to clean their offices or whatever they would like in return for

"Thanks to Peter at Oakleaf for doing a great job on cleaning our carpets for free to support the charity. If you would like to find out more etc etc"

Of course this being put in some of their gumpf (web, newsletters etc)

The materials are minimal and so it is just my time (in between labouring work). And before anyone mentions the legal stuff about contracts I do know all of this well (you simply invoice them a pound)

Anything positive is better than nothing but you may find that they'll not let you advertise the fact as they charge big money for a named endorsement.

I believe that Alltec once enquired about the Full Stop campaign for the NSPCC and were told even if they donated it would cost them £20k to use their name.

Anythings worth a try mate, give it a whirl and see what response you get.

Heard about cleaners doing schools, offices etc. in return for endorsements and being able to leave business cards and leaflets in staff rooms and up on notice boards etc.

As Shaun said anythings better than nothing.

I can see what your saying Shaun but I'm only talking about doing it at a local level which is what I need. Just banging my head against a brick wall a bit. Doing lots on Yell, dominating Google, waiting for YP to publish (Nov), done leaflets, Direct letters, this and that paper based and had quite alot of referrals from work I have done.Never had such a varied campaign so just trying to use every trick in the book (and looking at those that are'nt.

Liked Jaybee's idea about mosques but a bit late to act on now but is in diary for next year.

Sounds like your doing plenty already to get going in your new area. It will take time but you'll get there

Took about 2.5 (felt like 25) hours so not bad at all, good time to leave.
