by the way gg3 stands for glass gleam 3 there is also a mark 4 on this item from feedback 3 is the better one

GG3 for soft water -- thus why its used in pure water

GG4 for hard water
ok well lost now as will anyone reading this post changing from trad to wfp.

I myself think i live in a hard water area (do not know as it comes out of the tap and does not say i'm hard) But i live in cambidge and from what i can gather it is a hard water area.

I have been always told gg3 is the best, now i am well confused, what is better for the change over (i am so glad i did not order that a min ago before checking back on here)
gg3 gg4 (is there a gg5?)

many thanks guys

the best depends on your water hardness, i've tried both with tap tds of 90ppm & gg3 is the better for me.
IMO the whole "do windows with gg3 before switching to wfp" thing is a myth. when i used to use fairy i would trad a job one month then wfp it the next with no problem at all. still, today i trad some jobs then wfp them the next time or two & there is no difference either time.

im not sure on the myth bit

GG doesnt leave any residue behind, fairly leaves lanolin ( which is great for dishs, it leaves that Sqeak and a shine )

ive cleaned windows that have been does by WC'er using fairy, and you get a bubbley effect on the glass, i never got that with GG3

You will get the bubbles when you use a mono brush,i used to use the vikan brushes and got hardly any bubbles at all due to the fact that the bristles are much much softer and don`t get into the seals aswell.I`ve since done window`s that i did with the vikan brush on say 10-12 times and then switched to a mono brush and had this effect,if window`s are cleaned using a mono brush from day 1 after a couple cleans or even 1 clean the soap residue will be gone, but i would say if you use a soft brush day in day out you`ll have more problems with soap residue. If you brush the sides of the window up and down the black seals on PVC window`s with a mono brush the soap residue will bubble up everywhere.

Time to show my ignorance. Mono brush?? I'm in my third month of wfp and am using a vikan and a cleantech brush. Never had any probs with "bubbles" and am having great results.

Both of those brushes that your using are very soft, every now and again you could have trouble with spotting due to the brush not removing all soap residue. If you use a mono brush ie ionics multipole brush you will definitly see soap coming out of the seals, this is not a bad thing as you`ll know your removing the soap from the rubber seals.I`m not saying your not getting good results but i find that a slightly stiffer mono brush does a better job overall.I find the softer brushes good on maintenance cleans ie regular.

Feen, your vikan is a mono', it means monofilament, i.e. the ends of the bristles are not split/frayed.

I use mono vikan & still do not have soap coming out of the seals, if it does then i dont see it or it's gone in a matter of seconds.
Maybe i'm just the best window cleaner in the world 8)

That could be classed as unfair advantage, as it may get stuck in my dogs throat, would get a free pole though so that could be a bonus  ;D
