A lot of area Trading Standards Officers and local police are trying to establish no canvas zones.
They pretend this is the law, but as far as I know they are bluffing. If anyone has ever been prosecuted or can show me a court or newspaper report of such a prosecution I would be interested.

If you canvas on Telephone numbers should be checked against Telephone Preference Scheme, fine £5000 . I have never read of a prosecution but this law is on the statute books.

Some authorities will issue a permit for a fee and you have to go round and pick up dropped leaflets before you go home.
