Just got a new machine its a hydramaster raptor its got a 300psi pump just wanted to know if i should turn the psi down a bit or is that about the average now for cleaning carpets iam just used to a powermax 120psi but there seems to be a hell of a difference. cheers Darren.

Also it comes with a standard 50ft vac hose thinking of taking it down to 35ft its to long for most of the jobs that i will be doing also i will have to change the connectors as none of my hand tools fit.

If you use it at 300psi it will clean better and faster, if you cut the hosing down you'll need to more cuffs and a joining piece (HM sell them) and your original hand tool may blow its trigger as it may not be capable of 300psi but you could always clean upholstery at 130psi.

If you need new stuff like that cheap try ebay there are good new sellers on there.

Shaun the solution hose came with 2 feemale connectors i thought they always came with one of each.cheers Darren.

Go to your janitorial supplier and get a male end and swap it over or take the one off your old machine as it will be the same thread.

Higher PSI = higher flow rate = filling the tank back up more regular. No need to run it at 300 PSI all the time if the job doesn't require it.

higher psi doesnt always mean a higher flow rate it , the flowrate can be reduced by using smaller jets but the pressure remains high.
better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove any doubt
