GAZZA
as a fellow yorkshireman, they are 2 for 1 for a very good reason mate, don't do it. spend more on the 18ft pole espesially, go carbon & 24ft. life will be a dream. I recommend the 24ft carbon facelift but the extel hybrid sounds a good pole too & cheaper. ;)

It's just a case of looking on the net gazza at the different suppliers, IMO for the mini pole owt will do but like i said spend more on your main pole, trust me, you'll soon see it's worth every penny. ;)

I bought a 2 by 2 foot unger pole, one of them unger adapters, brush etc etc for about 40 quid all in. Like macmac said, don't blow a fortune on a mini pole. You could probably make one for even cheaper than i made it for  ;)

I use a 24ft carbon facelift, a MKII swivel, angle adaptor & mono' rectangular vikan. The brush & swivel are modded (more on that if you need to know).
With the above set up i do 99% of bottom windows with it too, i only have to use mini pole twice a month now. this set up is also superb for con' roofs.
Compared to some poles the facelift is mega expensive but you try & find a user on here who is anything other than delighted with the pole.
I guarantee you would not regret spending the money, if you are currently using a fibreglass pole it's like reliant robin Vs rolls royce. ;)

Gaz downstairs poles..you must make yourself, its cheaper and just as good.

Im now making my own adjustable ones like the tucker poles a friend of mine lets me use is tool room so i can machine and do any angle of bending.

But first im about to make one using these carbon fishing poles

Let know how i get on

Gary.
If i make a purchase gaz i trawl the suppliers websites to get the best deal. prices & deals change regular so it's hard to reccomend a particular supplier.
I got my facelift pole direct from facelift (www. faceliftcleaning, i think) & my mini (extender) from gardiners. can't complain about either to be honest.

Sorry dude, but you do have to put your own effort in to get a good deal. ;)

I grind all the excess black plastic stock away from the brush, i dont do it to make it lighter (although it does) but to get into sash windows better. it makes the brush smaller & easier to use. you can take plenty off all way round & just leave 2mm from bristles.
MKII swivel, drill a hole STRAIGHT through the ball & cup (about 3mm dia) in the obvious direction (so it will still swivel) & push a nail/split-pin/thin nut & bolt - whatever through the hole. this makes the whole assembly more rigid & stops the ball joint popping out every 2 minutes. the ball joint can't pop out at all when modded. it makes it 100% better. ;)

hi again..

cheers mac... but i have scrawled my way through all the internet sites daily, and my last resort is always asking on here , not my first option... i do put effort in , but the deals dont seem that good to be honest....

for example... an a 12 ft pole may cost £40... an 18ft £80...

then a 24ft pole jumps to a staggering £159... why does it nearly double for an extra 6ft.

so i just thought i would ask on here as a last resort, putting further effort in!  ::) ;D

oh and before anyone calls me a tight git lol....

i do know there are people out there who pay hundreds and hundreds for poles and are not too bothered about splashing out... and i also understand the quality issue....

but i have not that kind of money at the mo, so i am looking for good lower budget deals.....

24ft must be to window cleaners ... what school holidays are to airlines.

most popular so highest priced..

thanks.

Hi GAZZASP8

The reason for the jump from an 18 ft pole to a 24 ft pole is that the extra section added (or two) are by far more expensive to have manufactured than the previous three sections.  Also, the clamps for the larger sections are always more expensive to have manufactured as you do not need as many of them as the top two or three sizes which you can have manufactured in far larger quantities.

This being said if you look at the price of an X-Tel Fibre Glass pole (ideal for domestic work) on our site the base price for a bare pole 17 ft is £65.  The base price for a 24 ft is £94 which doesn't seem too bad.

I thought you might be interested that although many of us consider a 24 ft pole to be the perfect size for all domestic work, the pole that is actually the bread and butter pole throughout the UK is the 17/18 ft poles.  Ask any supplier and they will tell you that sales of this size always outnumber nearly all the other poles put together as it will reach 95% of all domestic work and is still light enough to be used on ground floor work.

We always try to make the most popular products the best value products, not the other way round.  You will find that most other WFP suppliers do the same.  Why?  Because there is the most competition in the market place for the most popular products.
