I used to have the old Universal and now have the X tel pole which I find is a good pole for the price you pay. They are very light but some find they are a bit whipy but I prefer them like that.

The good thing I find is when it is retracted the length is just right compared to the universal where I was forever hitting the odd thing . With this pole your hand is at the end of the Pole.

My opinion well worth the money to date, best cheepest place is Gardners.

I have the 17ft Glass fibre X-tel is a good pole, some people have said its too whippy but I like a little flex especially when cleaning window above conservatorys from the side. Its lighter and I think stronger than the extender poles. I would not go back to extender or ecoline.

I also have a 36ft Hybrid X-Tel excellent pole, light short lower section, lightweight and hard wearing.

I also have the 60ft Carbon X-Tel. one man operated, shorter lower section, light enough and hard wearing.

I started with the 36ft X-tel and was impressed so have ended up with the range. Ok you can go lighter with fishing poles, but for everyday use you cant beat the price or the durability for the weight.

OII  you,ve been nickin my poles  lol

I have exactly the same combination of poles and I agree totally with what you say!!

I wouldnt want to use the fibreglass X-tels any longer than the 17ft though. They would be far too whippy for me.
