Vauxhall Combo + 400l tank
« on: August 27, 2007, 03:39:19 pm »
Anyone got a Vauxhall Combo,Im looking at a 1.7 tdi later(W reg 60,000 miles he wants £1500 ono),will they legally hold a 400l tank.I've gone off the idea of 1000l static, and want a van that can hold 400l...that should do...also looking at a berlingo later too....

Thanks

Combo with 60000k on the clock for 1500 is good compared to a lot I've seen. even without the system in

Some of those old shape combo can carry 775 kg, if it is a combo 775 then it would not be a problem. The others have a limit of 565kg so a 400 litre tank would be a little bit to much by the time you added up the weight of the tank itself plus water a full fuel tank and your own weight.

You'll regret it in such a small van.
It'll handle like a banana.

I had 400L in an Escort van which is the same or greater payload.
It was wallowing all over the place and didn't want to stop. :o

Get something that can accept double what you need.
Also it allows for expansion. ;)

Don`t put 400ltrs in that vauxhall,it`ll handle like a boat with no rudder.

400 ltrs in a combo seems far too much . at the most 250ltrs would be ok in a baffeld tank .
where theres muck theres money

Berlingo is about the same as combo. Two versions one is about a 600 payload and the other is 800kg

Ignore the payload in these smaller vans, drive them with 400ltrs in them with your ladder and trad gear and you`ll know what i`m saying, you might aswell put a sticker on the side saying STENNA.

Hey Squeaky......Did you see the match last night?
??? What match?

Like NWH said, don't worry about payloads, you just don't want a big weight of water in a small van.

So does that count out the Doblo aswell then? These all have 730KG payload right ???Also, as I said I only have £1500 worth of business at mo,with growth to come (hopefully).I know it's inevitable to go large eventually, but I am on a budget, and handed my notice in last week,so need to start Monday really :o :o

If you must go for a smaller van than get a flat tank, lower center of gravity and all that.

I thought all Doblos had 730 KG payload, now I see they range from 605KG to 740KG, which is gonna make buying USED more difficult!!
