Cheers,

i do think they are a waste of time personally... but every penny counts i suppose...

an odd one is useless  i feel,  as you could be setting up somewhere else and making more pro rata.

The best way I've found is to get to all the little out the way villages in your area. If there is nobody else there canvass all the shops then you get the houses thrown in on top.  ;)

I do about £50 of shops every thursday morning.

They used to be my best earners, but since I went WFP a lot of my domestics earn more.
By the time I've driven into town, then off to where I'm doing houses I'm usually a bit down on turnover.

But I don't care.
I love doing shops. They're easy, I get to use my squeegee, it's always social, and there's always plenty of attractive lady scenery. :)

I know a wc that does shops in a village that i do work in and he charges a min of £12 per shop regardless of the size,he does 1 particular shop with 4 panes of glass 8x5ft + 1 door with 12 panes on it and charges £20 per time. Now i charge high prices but for a shop of that size that takes the P***,he`s a slow worker and makes about 7-8 shops his friday mornings work,he`ll soon be losing half of them to me.They take him all friday morning to do when in real terms it`s only about an hours work.

To be honest doing shops on a weekly or fortnightly cycle is a bit too much of a bind for me
I like the flexability of being able to just go away for a week when i want but if you have these type of jobs you either have to leave them for a week or arrange for someone else to do them which personally i dont like

I have been w/cing for 12 years and only have a few shops might get rid too much hassle ;D

i'd like to do shop windows, just so i could get an early start for the day before carrying on with domestic work. but seems like most of the work is taken - and i wouldnt know how to price it anyway.

i was asked to price a hairdressers about 2 weeks ago, the guy who does it is very crap

i turned up, handed over my " welcome pack" and gave them a price, when they said the guy does it for £1.75, i took my pack back, gave thema card and said " i will be on my way then, here is my card "

£1.75  ::) ::) not worth me even getting out of the car for that

Too right.

Average shopfronts 3 or 4 minutes for 3 or 4 quid.

Get enough of them and they're a great earner, and so easy and social.

I only do two shops.  One is where I also clean two houses for the owner and the other is a job that I subcontract from a company that is based a bit far away for it to be worth doing it themselves.  Both are reasonable earners.  Nothing special but fair enough.
