Factory clean - what would you charge?
« on: August 21, 2007, 07:23:19 pm »
I have been asked to quote for a thorough clean on a new factory tomorrow morning. We have never been asked to quote for something like this, but a weekly contract could be the result, so I am keen to get it right.

I haven't seen the place yet, but the guy told me it is currently being decorated and will be carpeted before we clean. They want us to get rid of all the dirt on the tiles, sinks, toilets, windows etc. Although these are all new, the dirt has built up during plastering etc.

Anyone have any idea what is an acceptable hourly rate for this sort of thing, though I will quote for the job, not the hour? Any other views? Any problems I might encounter?

Thanks - ALAN.

hi there

what size is it ??

when do they hand it over to the client ??

youve got to be looking at around £150 per persom per day,  the problem that you have generally will be the timeframe to delivery

No idea on the size of the place - won't see it until tomorrow.

It was the client that contacted me, so the builders have already handed the premises over to them.

I generally work on £15 per hour for domestic cleans and slightly less for office cleans. Is this too much for what is in effect a builders clean?

Another problem is that they want it done next week and I am just about fully booked with having to re-schedule the Bank Holiday Monday cleans.

hi there

yes it sounds like they havent scheduled for this clean, therefore i would ldift our price a tad, for the inconvenience factor,

the other thing would be to work the evening to do it, and charge even more

Been to the site today. Downstairs - one large office and three toilets, upstairs, three smaller offices and a kitchen. One staircase connecting them. Didn't want the factory area cleaning at all.

Rooms weren't as bad as I've seen, though there was some builders dust and plasterers remains. All rooms are empty and are going to be carpetted before we clean.

They just want a thorough clean and polish and windows cleaned for which I quoted £400. They also asked how much for a weekly clean - quoted £40.

Got both jobs - result I think.
