Extremely quiet here for last two weeks, (Portland, Dorset)  been scratching around and phoning past customers, although it has given me time to do some extra marketing and tidy the office

Today tho about ten jobs booked in, i was starting to despair, but it seems things are picking up slightly again.

i think here because last two weeks have been sunny and hot everyones put off the inside jobs,  August normally for us is crazy, rushed of our feet, so it's definitley been different this year.

Steve, saw on your site you cover Peterlee. Can anyone there afford you or has it changed alot over the last 10 years. Know the area well. My mum grew up in a little village called Wingate (bout 5 miles from Peterlee) and I spent most of my summer holidays up that way.

Doing one in Peterlee then Seaham on Thursday it was a recommendation so price was not a factor

How much did you pay for that optimisation Steve. Someone has just done it for me for £100 and he reckons it'll take about 3 Months for the site to pick it up.

The Newcastle YP goes right up to the borders do you cover that also? I was up in Northumberland the other week and was surprised how far it would be for you to cover as there's not alot of population around to link to other jobs.

Been said many times before and not many of us do it but advertising needs to be constant and consistant even during the busy times.

However i think the ecomony is playing a big part this year.  House prices have slowed up big time and interest rates are set to rise again depending upon who you talk to and stocks are down so its all negitive.

it is easy for people to be negative, high street was down at the beginning of the year and I wasn't as busy as I usually am but then POW! it went mad and has stayed mad and I mean mad even for me!! ever since probably April so I guess it's feast or famine.

YP still rubbish don't know what's up with that.
