Hi guys could someone please tell me if you buy an inline heater, do you need to upgrade your solution hoses in order to cope with the extra heat?

I bought one last month and I didnt need to do anything. But I must say im impressed with the unit! Dont get me wrong you cant put cold water in and expect red hot but it really is a good booster!

I find you can actually put stone cold water in and have it come out hot if you're just using a upholstery tool.

I use an Ashbys V2 and it works well with sleeved solution hoses.

If it is allowed to stand for a minute or so (moving furniture etc.) on a high setting it produces a fair burst of steam which is no problem with a wand. However if you use a short stair tool and dont reduce the temp it can get a bit too hot to touch.

Trust me, the V2 from Ashbys is absolute garbage. 1 It puts damaging back pressure on your pump which eventually wears out the pump due to overload. 2 Pressure at the wand or hand tool is no more than a mild mist. 3 Put cold water through it on full temp and all you get is tepid to cold water. 4 Reliability on these things is shocking, they break easily.

Get Ashbys to take off the 55oC limit they put on your immersion heater (Dont listen when they rattle on about pump reliability at higher temps) get them to calibrate accurately, use GOOD quality powders that don't scale and damage your pump and run your solution up to 80+oC. Get some real heat going without the need to use a stupid unreliable piece of c**p such as the V2.

I dont like to get into an arguments  based on personal experience. BUT as you have decided to slag off my comments:-
 
1) My internal heater is set at 80 degrees.
2)There is no back pressure as there is a vent in the V2 to allow excess steam    pressure into the atmosphere.
3)It has a thermostat to regulate the temp and shut off the element.

The V2 works for me and I dont think it is a piece of ordure - if was I would say so as it is my money at the end of the day.

NB I dont use any chemicals that leave a residue in the solution tank (and I have sourced from several suppliers)

If your machine has not been tinkered with by the ultra safe ashbys to stop your water heating over 55oC and can heat up to 80+oC, why do you need a V2, you've got as much heat as you will ever need.
Try uncoupling the connectors before the V2 unit, that's how much back pressure there is!!! and that's why the intensity of the spray from your wand jets would have trouble dislodging the skin from a rice pudding.

Spend £700 on a nice holiday.

IMO. If I run 50 or 75 ft of hose on really soiled carpets then the V2 goes in before the last 25ft to keep the temp up.

I'm not sure about the quality of your rice pudding but steam at 100+ psi is not to be messed with as it does get pushed out and not sucked in by the pump.

I also think you might have some issues with Asbys which I dont want to involved in.

Ashby's are one of the best companys to deal with, in fact I would say the best, I have no problem with them what so ever.
Just didnt like the Steamate.
