See more of the country is getting a hammering today with the rain.

Here in North Wales no probs so far,but I see south Wales has been hit bad.

How are the rest of you guy's getting on?

stip winging and start spelling!

Tried leafleting this afternoon but just had to admit defeat as they turned to mush.

So I went to meet the Queen instead. Tried to get the van and Queen in shot at same time for local TV but jobsworth wasn't having it. just imagine a leaflet with the Queen standing next to your van!

I would have thought that the rain would always bring in more work.  I will get slated for this but, especially for those with a truck mount.  After all there isnt much any dry systems can do in the first or even any stages of a flood job.

I dont work this time of year by choice but I have done several floods as I cant teach in this weather.

I am also getting countless area rugs to do too as a lot of company's doing the flood jobs dont want to take on the cleaning of them and it is easier for the rug to just be condemned.

Perfect time for anyone to try out a saturation clean as the rug has already been saturated so nothing to lose.

With all this rain and the consequent floods I cant believe that any carpet cleaner should be quiet.

Best, Dave.  P.S. Paul thanks for the advice the other day.  Havent needed it yet but if I do I will know where to go in this country to get what it is I may need......

Anybody struggling for work at the moment, contact your local Chem-Dry, Rainbow, Munters or Belfor depots and offer your services as a sub contractor. It will just be manhandling damaged furniture and carpets etc but will help pay the bills.

Strange how the rain falls. I have seen no rain all week but thirty miles further inland bridges were swept away by the floods. I wonder does the sea coast have any bearing on the weather because in the winter time the frost is never as severe in coastal areas either.

The sea is always about 5-10 degrees warmer than the air. This obviously affects the weather near the coastline. You can have severe frost in Newcastle and travel 8 miles to the coast and there is none. The tides can also affect the weather. If you think that the gravity of the Moon can pull the oceans it can obviously have a similar affect on the water held in the clouds.

I've been wet through as well, we made a raft with son's friends at an outdoors centre and sailed it, (son's 7th birthday) he even jumped in to the reservoir (with life jacket on) and went for a swim, no dehumidifier or turbo drier could touch him he was sopping wet and I felt young again ;D
