i have to say that even if they were just bar stools they would take me more than 30 seconds each to clean properly and then there  is the dumping and filling of water etc. . . . . . .

I don't understand, If you have someone with you and you are a grafter what V has has done is achievable (probably added a few greys working at that pace mind) if you are a grafter. I find on big jobs that I just go into the zone (no toilet or food breaks, carryy water to drink on me) and that helps me get it done quickly and properly. And even at 75p a chair he's just earned £975 (minus costs) for a nights work. Who's laughing really. Good for you Mr V

Judging by the quantity & the fact that you have another job for similar proportions, it sounds as though these are cinema/theatre seats. We all know the state these get into & I would interested to know your system to clean at the rate of 100 per hour.
Perhaps I disagreeumption is wrong. Can you tell us what type of seating you are referring to

pete, no doubt vanguard is a grafter, so are many on here but if you have ever cleaned a lot of chairs in one go you will know how tiring it is, not only that but you just cannot clean a dirty seat properly in 30 seconds even if it's a 'bum only' seat, it will take longer than 30 seconds to extract properly, if the chairs are very clean anyway, you might just get away with it. also the ligistics of a large job like that would  take time.

Once seen a video on an American website possibly the Gerkinks site.

Cleaned a row of seating in about a minute with a large oscilating (sp) machine.

But you cant tell how dirty they where to start with or what they looked like afterwards.

Perhaps some of the wiz kids can find it and play it here.

The machine in question is, I believe being imported into the UK in the not too distant future, or so i 'm told.

It's a 11 inch oscillating machine with bonnets and used with encapsulation chems

When I tried to get one recently, I was refused, as they were working on a deal with someone over here..............................but and this is a real irony............I believe the same machine is made in the UK and imported into the US !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am a fan of this kind of cleaning and if you imagine a slightly heavier version of the ORECK with customised handles zooming over commercial seating, using, encap'...................

You could compete with Vanguard !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
