Quoting for show homes
« on: June 25, 2007, 09:41:28 pm »
Have just been asked to quote on 6 show homes in new development...... probably 20 - 25 pound houses if they were residential.
Weekly outside and 2 weekly in and out .... how much would you charge?

I used to do some for Fairclough homes , I charged my normal rate. Plus I asked if I could put one of my business fridge magnets in all there houses. I got quite a bit of work from people who had gone to look at the houses and had seen my magnet.
(I got them from Vista print)

How long did you have them for?

I had problems getting paid , so I only did them for 3 months . But they did want them doing until the last house was sold . If you do start to clean them ask for the phone number of the person in accounts who will be dealing with payment. Thats where I went wrong , I used to give it to the lady in the sales office, then she sent it away.

The best thing to do is get them to raise a purchase order for the entire contract, then you have a number to quote on all invoices, bean shufflers (accounts dept) like that, gets paid a lot quicker then.

As for pricing, whatever you think, remember it's on a building site and they tend to get dirty very quickly, even if it's only a week since they were last done, frames and sills need to be done every time.
