i still think that this is a good idea, to have the webasto hotshot as a wfp accessory, its easily fitted to your trolley or backpack, if you have really bad windows just a few squirts, of hot water would help remove grease flys tree sap. ect, cold di is good on its own, this device would just help aid us, especially in winter, beats paying thousands of pounds,

look under new products, only £185

JoUK, do you think that this could be modded to permanently heat the water?

i dont think it can,  just heats the water as it passes through it only, but its only seconds to fully heat up instantly, what i am realy trying to say is, do we really need gallons of hot water, when all we need is squirts of it, enough to help get rid of the worse,

Jouk, I've seen a number of things that might suit, but they're around the £1500 mark, and aimed at yacht operators really.

We need a mini version of these things.  I mean really mini.

Hi Jo

That looks good.  Have you tried it?  In my mind I'm trying to work out how you can have this fitted in your vehicle with some kind of remote switching.  It would be great for birds mess.

It's needs to be more than just 'in your mind'.  This needs planning, brains and execution.  I don't think I am up to it.  Is there anyone here who can design a system and put it forward to us all without trying to capitalise on it?

no alex i have not tried it yet, but am definitly going to get one for this winter, this heater will work using a remote control, as the heater is 12v, and before anyone says yes but wont the water get cold by the time it gets to the brush head, i have solve this minor problem, so this small heater can be more effective than any of these big hot water systems

Joe, if you can make contact with them, try to get the spec list on it? also ask for another price as in for supply only. The £185 is for supply and fit.

It would work on a remote control, but bare in mind, anyone who buy's a remote control, look at the range and then deduct at least a third from the range...ie if it say's it has a range of 150 ft then in reality its only 100 ft.
also if anyone already uses a remote you could install a 2 chanel system to operate your original system and on the other chanel you can have the heater.

Now for the downer ::)

I can't see the spec on the link, but just looking at the size of the cable (red) and the inline fuse, also knowing its an instantanious water heater, the current consumption from a battery is going to be huge ::) and unless you have some way to keep your battery topped up and quickly its not going to work. it might be ok like Alex said for the odd bird poo situation, but its a non runner for using it lots during the day.
Sorry if I have put a downer on it, but I don't want to see money going to waste.

Why use a heater at all? Surely just a strip of non-scratching scotchbrite could be mounted on the brush head - just flip it over and scrub, flip it back and rinse - could be expensive though, at least ten pence!
