« on: June 14, 2007, 06:59:16 pm »
my first job today was a relatively easy office , ground and first floor , in and out , takes about an hour . as always they paid me on completion , had a quick chat , and on my way out i was checking my work and looking out of a very clean upstairs ( luckily or unluckily i cant decide ) , single glazed window , when CRASH  id put my head right through the window !!!!!  ???
i was covered in glass , and so was the area below , where i had got them to move all their cars in advance ( top of the range mercs )
i have a headache , but am fine , no blood or cuts ,
what a day !
hope you all had a better day than me ! ?

Glad you're OK.
Ian Lancaster sometimes says that if he cleans glass by scrubbing itwith the top of his head then it's none of the customer's business so long as the glass is clean.  I don't think he actually expected anyone to try it though.
Hope the humour isn't inappropriate as I do realise how serious it could have been for you.

Glad to hear you are ok. It could have been very nasty.

Do all the good you can, and make as little fuss about it as possible.

That only shows you did a good job, otherwise you would notice the glass ;)

Glad you OK Lloyd
you should have charged them double for doing such a good Job, and preventing a worker from doing what you did, if the workers would have put there head through the window, the company could have been sued. ;D ;D

Lloyd,

You must have an 'ard head!

Anyway, never check your work; once you clean a window - don't go back.

Wor Lass has a bad habit of checking hers (and mine) work; and I always think it looks a bit gormless; and wastes time.  She'll argue that I missed a 'head print' or something, but I ask her if we'd get sacked because of that.  'No' is the answer, and if we ever did, 'so what?'.

Once you clean a window, it's clean; there's no need for a second look.

And never, never, stick your head through a pane of glass! ;D
