Hi all

After chatting to Vanguard on the phone he highly recommended Restormate for getting my chemicals from. I have had a look at their website at www.restormate.co.uk and it looks pretty good I must say!

To be honest I have been more than happy getting my gear from the boys at Extracta. Brian and John have always been helpful but have found their chemical prices to be a bit on the high side (especially after checking Restormate out) as have their maintenance work.

One thing that put me off getting chemicals from third parties is what Brian once said to me. He said that all of their chemicals had inhibiters in to stop the machinery from wearing out. This has worried me a bit so can anyone here put my mind at rest?

I would prefer to go to Restormate as it is closer to home for me even though Extracta is only 20 mins away LOL

I know a lot of the guys on this site use Prochem chemicals which is what Restormate seem to stock. Are these chemicals ok to use with my Extracta Excel without damaging it?

Ashbys use a similar line about their chems. They may be correct or they may want to scare you into staying with them. Somehow I doubt Prochem would supply stuff that will make you portie ill prematurely.

I really like Craftex supplies, seem just as good as anything and tend to be cheaper, and John has a good reputation.

I used prochem chems for about 4 years with my excel and had no probs, you're likely to have to change pumps and vacs in the course of time due to wear any how, so it's probably a nonsense, and prochem have been one of the market leaders for cleaning chems for a long long time.

That said i tend to use prochem and extracta and craftex, as i think each do certain solutions better than the others, i dont think one provider will always supply you the best of eveything, and i've found the protector cheaper form extracta than most others.

I did stop buying the vac motors from them tho as they were £250 a throw  and woodbridge do them for around !  £160 so it pays to shop around.

I use Restormate, great website and John is very helpful..  You also get next day delivery which is great if you live a distance away

I'm a big lover of craftex, they do a good range of chemicals. I think Restormate stock them.

There is a company in the teeside area called RGS Heigene and they are distributors of the craftex range , they offer a discount on all of there products and normally give free delivery on any purchase.

 everybody that as dealt with extracta have had the same bull poo they told you , and trust me ive heard it for 20 years 

its a way too keep you going there only !

ive never had any dealing with the guy from  Restormate but ive spoke to him on the phone hes very helpful 

 and with him being a cleaner still , he knows his stuff , and is more then happy to help you out..  ive pested him with my t.m. problems and hes even tried to help me

 In fact if you use anything other than extract chemicals you bits will fall off and you will be rendered impotent!

I do remember ulitmate master wearing out the alloy elbows in their machine 10 years ago, so that may be what he means but thought they would have changed to plastic elbows like everyone else did

on our vans we have have chemicals form 6 diffent companies on board, and change from user ,too user as well, my top 7


Forumal 90 from Chemspec ( best in a truckmount)
Coffee stain remover from craftex
Spray and GO power from chempec ( For when craftex does'nt work and you need a hot soluition)
POG from chemspec
Citrus gel from prochem
Double clean ( best in a portable machine)
Iron rust and mold remover from craftex
A good microsplitter mix for all first shot at stains 

can get throught most week needing nothing else, but hearing good things about hydramaster chems so will be looking to give them a go too!

Are Extracta expensive then? Their dilution rates seem normal to me. In the past i have used them and found they work so thats good news! I have always used a multitude of armourments when it comes to cleaning solutions, but i never look at the prices? Before some t!t shouts-am i a rep for extracta then NO! Am just very inquisitve! I ALWAYS like the best deal-am sure we all do.

Although at first saw the top post  I thought this was a plug for one supplier. And nearly used my magic button

 I am glad to see the topic has widen out.

It has prompted ne to look at the Extracta Site,

Their Stain Guard Carpet Protector cconcentrated seams low price compared with others and would it enable it to be used as a marketing promotion.

But the question is am I mistaken and is it any good?
